TESTIMONY just touched Jesus ’ cloak , and she was healed instantaneously . “ Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak . She said to herself , ‘ If I only touch his cloak , I will be healed .’ Jesus turned and saw her . ‘ Take heart , daughter ,’ he said , ‘ your faith has healed you .’ And the woman was healed at that moment ” ( Matthew 9:20-22 , NIV ). Through the six courses of chemotherapy treatment , I contracted COVID twice . This helped me focus on what is truly important . I was living my life on autopilot . I would go through the same daily routine without allowing much time for God or my family . Being grounded to a hospital bed and my recliner at home provided a new perspective .
I spent much more time with my wife , kids , and , most importantly , Jesus . An excerpt from Hebrews 12:1b-2a ( NIV ) helped me focus on He who is greater , “… let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us , fixing our eyes on Jesus , the pioneer and perfecter of faith .” No matter the circumstance , I knew that the only way for me to persevere would be to focus on Jesus . Therefore , my relationship with Christ grew exponentially as well as my relationships with my wife and children .
I am thankful for the overwhelming support that my family and I received . Many CMA members have reached out and are continuing to pray over us . CMA members shared my Facebook updates with local churches and other prayer chains . Prayer is extremely powerful . It is the most effective means of communicating with our Father . Charles Spurgeon speaks of prayer as the following , “ Prayer girds human weakness with divine strength , turns human folly into heavenly wisdom , and gives to troubled mortals the Peace of God . We know not what prayer can do .”
Your prayers are helping tremendously ! I had a PET scan at the beginning of July that showed only a small amount of scar tissue in my abdomen . The cancer in my body has been completely eradicated !
The doctor states that complete remission isn ’ t announced until about a year of being cancer free , but as of this moment , I am just that : cancer free !
I had a scan October 11 . The scan revealed that I am in remission ! Praise God ! I have a CT scan scheduled for February to determine status . As I am slowly getting stronger and recovering from chemo , I want to share one of my favorite scripture verses , “ I can do all things through him who gives me strength ” ( Philippians 4:13 , NIV ).
