Together, thisβ teamβ of fishermen hauled in so many fish they thought their boats would sink. The harvest is potentially so great, and with the supernatural power of Jesus at work, the mission of evangelism is so large that it cannot be done alone but only in partnership. Partnership is the key to the mission. This is why, within the ministry of CMA, it is so important to belong to a local chapter. This is why we encourage chapters to partner to serve at larger motorcycling events. The work of evangelism in the motorcycling culture is so big that we canβ t do it by ourselves. We need each other.
It is a Vision Worth Going For
In response to the miraculous catch of fish, Peter ' s first reaction was to realize his own unworthiness. He says,β Oh, Lord, please leave meβ Iβ m such a sinful manβ( Luke 5:8, NLT). At the same time, he and his partners are blown away by how many fish they just caught. In the confusion and wonder, Jesus says,β Donβ t be afraid! From now on youβ ll be fishing for peopleβ( Luke 5:10, NLT)! The fishermen hear Jesusβ offer, and they see it as a vision worth going for.β As soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesusβ( Luke 5:11, NLT).
Jesus ' invitation to Peter is extended to you and me today.
β Donβ t Fear! I want you to fish for people.β He invites us to be involved in telling motorcyclists about Him, sharing the Good News with all riders, of all ages, on all types of bikes. Our response is to do the same as these fishermen we just read about: leave everything else behind and follow Jesus. CMA
