AN ad in Road Rider
Magazine is what introduced me to CMA in November 1978. I just thought it would be fun to ride with likeminded believers, as ministry wasnβ t even a consideration.β Boy, I donβ t know about wearing that big cross on my back,β but that would change.
In October 1982, with the help of Jim Wood, one of the first, if not the first, state rep for Washington, the Lewiston- Clarkston Gospel Riders # 113 was chartered, Idahoβ s first chapter. I knew one Christian motorcyclist, and he knew one, and then that person knew

some. Soon, we had a list of 35. At that first meeting, we had 35 excited people, who hardly knew anything about CMA, show up for breakfast. Then I said,β I donβ t know what Iβ m doing, but I think we need a president,β they said,β Ok, how about you!β I said,β Oh wait, wait β¦ I didnβ t mean that!β Yep, I served as President for a couple of years. When Herb Shreve rode out to our first Idaho State Rally in 1986, we really thought weβ d hit the big time.

years. No, I never got them lost, as itβ s Creative Routing! Iβ ll never forget leading 12 bikes down to the Kanab Utah National Rally in 1997. Then, in 2007, having the National Rally in Washington was great fun. In 2009, we moved to Caldwell, Idaho, and got involved with the Snake River Valley Christian Cruisers, serving as President and Road Captain for a few years. Then, in 2019, we chartered the Narrow Road Riders # 1386 in Nampa, Idaho, and now I am President again. We are growing and are involved in both the dirt and street ministry. CMA |
