AUGUST 1-7, a
group
of teenage and adult CMA members
will travel to Dickson, Tennessee for
a service opportunity that not one
of us could do by ourselves. CMA
has been involved with serving at
this event for more than ten years,
and many members and leaders
have played large roles in being
faithful, gaining the right to speak
and work, and ministering each
time there is an opportunity. The
doors have burst wide open at this
event.
To start this summary of the
Loretta Lynn Motocross Amateur
National Races (LLMX), I would like
to say a special thank you to a couple
of CMA members who have
really tilled the soil here. Freddie
Bernard from Arkansas has humbly
served this event for many years.
Eventually, he started preparing
food for some of the race staff
throughout the week, and now,
when you mention CMA to any of
the race promotion staff, they
immediately compliment our breakfast
with a bright smile. The second
member who has invested so much
time and love that I want to call out
is Mike Hearne from Tennessee. He
has stretched himself and all of
those involved in helping over the
years to do more and go further to
be a blessing and a light at the
track. There have been many others
who have helped over the years,
but CMA’s presence at the track
would not be what it is without
these family members’ great
investment. Thank you both
tremendously.
At LLMX, CMA has many opportunities
in front of us. First of all,
beginning on Sunday morning of
the event, CMA helps setup and
teardown for a church service that
happens on the grounds. Then we
get right to work, organizing giveaways
and bib distribution for all of
the racers. We work hand-in-hand
with the race promoters on their
whole registration process. This
means that we get to come into
contact with almost every racer
who is going to be at the event!
Starting Monday morning, the
racers have their practice runs. In
2019, CMA was asked to open the
week with a prayer over the loudspeaker!
We also get to set up our
ministry tent at the starting line
during practice days and offer
prayer and water to every racer as
they queue up for their practice run.
We have blessed upwards of 800
bikes in one day on any given year!
Finally, we are given a booth
space to set up our ministry tent for
the rest of the week, offering water,
prayer, and just a friendly face for
conversation and hanging out with
racers and families. It is such a joy.
Apart from the tent, we also give
away rag tracts and offer prayer by
walking through campsites in the
area.
Teenagers and adults of CMA
coming together to witness to the
lost and serve where we can. It is
truly amazing! I hope that you will
consider joining us in 2021. More
details will be available in the
HeartBeat and on the website,
cmausa.org. CMA
Zeke and Samantha McPherson serve CMA
as Youth Movement National Evangelist.
