NOTE FROM THE EDITOR
By the time this issue comes out, my daughter will be MARRIED!
Nineteen years ago, I was praying about what to do next, not realizing God was about to open a door for me at CMA. I stepped into a position as the Events Assistant when Lexi was just eight months old. I had no idea then how meaningful that“ yes” would become.
In July 2025, God opened another door— and Lexi joined the CMA Support Center team as the Membership / Events Assistant. If you talked to me at the 50th Anniversary Changing of the Colors Rally, you probably heard me share what a full-circle moment this is. The very position I started in when she was a baby is now the position she holds as a young woman preparing for marriage. Only God can write a story like that.
And here we are all these years later— carpooling to work, grabbing lunch together, and planning her wedding.
This season is full. Busy. Emotional. Beautiful.
I’ m intentionally slowing down to savor these last few weeks with her under our roof. I’ m not taking for granted the pile of clothes in the laundry or the coffee cup left on the counter.( Do I grimace some mornings? Sure. I’ m human.) But I’ m also soaking in the evenings when she piles up in the living room with us, tells us about her day, and shows us funny videos.
God keeps gently reminding me: slow down. Notice the ordinary. Treasure what others might call insignificant.
For me, those are the sacred moments— praying in the car as we drop her brother off at school, blasting worship music while we get ready in the mornings, making her weekday coffee, sharing my vanity, and watching every 80-90’ s wedding movie we can find( even though we all know nothing tops Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride Part II).
The weeks are winding down. I’ m choosing not to stress. I remind myself daily: God is not surprised by anything we’ re facing— or will face. He is with us. He has this. Worry changes nothing.
“ So don’ t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’ s trouble is enough for today”( Matthew 6:34, NLT).
Nineteen years have flown by. These next few weeks will too. I’ m determined to soak in every second.
When you see me next, I’ ll have a married daughter— and a son-in-law.
And my heart will be very, very full. Misty Bradley, HeartBeat Editor
