EVANGELIST ARTICLE

I have been enjoying the Seasons of Refreshing material and talking and learning more about Overflowing Confident Hope . God Almighty Himself has chosen us to carry this hope to all mankind , but more specifically to the motorcycling community . In our everyday life , we are drawn to motorcycles and the people who ride them . Most of the time , we talk about motorcycles , and we might even do a bike blessing and give them a ragg tract . I must ask myself , how many of those encounters do I ask them if they know Jesus Christ or what is going on in their life ? We must learn to take the time to find out what is really going on with them and ask questions that dig deeper into their lives . I am reminded of an encounter with a biker at the National Biker Roundup in Memphis .

The conversation started a lot like any other that we have all had at the events we work . I told the man that I liked his motorcycle . It was a black V8 chopper with all the chrome . From the beginning , I could tell that he had something going on in his life that he was not talking about but wanted to . The conversation turned to God , and he became quiet until the Holy Spirit took over . He went on to say he had been given the news that he was probably not going to live much longer , and there was nothing that the doctor could do for him . He also said that the illness had progressed to the point that he could barely eat or get around very well .
The man said he had not told his family or his club . He was not saved at the time of the illness but knew about God . He told me he went into his backyard and cried out to God for help , asked God to take this illness from him , and pleaded to God to make him part of God ’ s family . This man was emotional as he told me his story , especially when he said God had healed him ! We rejoiced together over the healing and salvation and thanked the Lord !
The man also told me that he had still not told his family or club
and did not know how to tell them . We spent the next thirty minutes discussing how he could be the witness that reached his family and club . This man thanked me for encouraging him and showing him where and how to move forward . We spent over an hour talking on the hot asphalt , but this man left with hope and a plan for his new life in Christ . It is worth the time spent because we never know what someone is going through . Take your time because the people are worth it , and we are called to it ! CMA
