YOUTH MOVEMENT By RACHEL Larson
HAVE you been to a CMA function or maybe a church camp and felt like the experience was exactly what you needed at just the right time ? The messages spoke to the trials you were facing , the worship music was so encouraging and allowed you to connect , and the people were so loving and welcoming β¦ And then you went home , and it felt like nothing changed , and you had never left ? I β ve been there . I used to be so conflicted about leaving . I wished it would never end ! The truth is that God created us to be in relationships , so something special happens when people gather in His name and worship together . But I β ve learned over the years that He never intended that experience to end . He wants us to be in constant communication with Him so He can give us those feelings of love , peace , and joy . Our relationship with Him can bring His healing presence every day , no matter where we are . But we must choose to welcome Him , talk to Him , and acknowledge His presence and leading in our lives . Proverbs 3:5-6 ( NASB ) says , β Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean not on your own understanding . In all your ways acknowledge him , and He will make your paths straight .β
Imagine Him standing next to you every day . Do you go about your day as if He β s not there ? Or do you talk to Him throughout your day ? He is always with us , but we must invite Him to be an active part of our lives .
When we do invite Him , He shows up every time ! He gives you wisdom for those questions that are hard to answer . He gives you peace when you can β t understand your circumstances . And He gives you joy that can β t be taken away . It also becomes contagious , so everyone around you will notice and want to have what you have . This gives you opportunities to share the Gospel .
God encourages us in His Word to invest in our relationship with Him and grow our faith : Colossians 2:6-7 ( NASB ): β Therefore , as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord , so walk in Him , having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith , just as you were instructed , and overflowing with gratitude .β
We can build on our faith by going to church , reading the Word , reading other devotional materials , listening to Bible-based podcasts , listening to worship music , and spending time communicating with God . Going to CMA events and camps are great places to build up your faith with other believers . And when you have a strong relationship with the Lord , He doesn β t let the experience end when the event ends . CMA
