We can apply the cross to bitter situations , to hard hearts , and to forgetful people . We can offer grace and love to the situation . We can apply the living Word of God and be washed by the water of the Word . God would not have us grumble and stay bitter , but forgive , offer restoration , and apply the cross .

Back to our text in Exodus 25b- 26 , “ There He made for them a statute and regulation , and there He tested them . And He said , “ If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God , and do what is right in His sight , and listen to His commandments , and keep all His statutes , I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians ; for I , the Lord , am your healer .” God gives clear direction for us . Listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God , “ do what is right in His sight , listen to His commandments , and keep all His statutes .”

We do these by praying and listening while walking closely with Jesus ; His righteousness and sacrifice keep the diseases of sin away because Jesus says I , the Lord , am your healer . Verse 27 , “ Then they came to Elim where there were twelve springs of water and seventy date palms , and they camped there beside the waters .” Twelve springs of water , God is so good . For the twelve tribes of Israel , God provided clean water for all 12 tribes . He provided for them , and God provides for you and me .

“ Work at living in peace with everyone , and work at living a holy life , for those who are not holy will not see the Lord . Look after each other so that none of you fails to

receive the grace of God . Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you , corrupting many ” ( Hebrews 12:14- 15 , NLT ).

In closing , when we deal with members , leaders , or ourselves who are grumbling and living with bitterness , we must remember that God has always been good to us ; God provides salvation , and we tend to forget His faithfulness just like the Israelites did . We must start with step 1 : Cry out to the Lord , and step 2 : Apply the cross to the issue . Throw in the tree , and the waters become sweet ! CMA
