Each artist has explored the notion of “what is a book”. With a diverse range of media and materials, a creative exploration of structure and content, and a limited criteria - A5 size or smaller and at least four “pages” - the artists have shown that anything is possible and that a book is still and always a precious thing of great inherent value. NICHOLAS JONES BOOK SCULPTURE Obsolete text books, tattered pulp fictions and disused dictionaries are a source of creative inspiration for sculptor Nicholas Jones. In most cultures, books are revered as repositories of stories, factual information and images. Jones’ use of books as the basis of his art shifts our ‘reading’ of these familiar objects to a sculptural idiom appreciated for its physical shape and allusion. www.bibliopath.org LITTERA SCRIPTA As Australia’s specialist dealer in medieval/ renaissance documents, we will be bringing original illuminated manuscript leaves, dated 12th to 15th century as well as original printed leaves from the 15th to 17th century.
