Progress Report
From the March Annual Meeting through mid-June, we conducted bi-weekly construction and design meetings with the professional team to fully define the project scope. Simultaneously, Chef and Nick worked with a kitchen design team to review possible options for kitchen improvements and replacements.
As we proceeded through the project scope definition, Garrett Construction reviewed the feasibility of each project element with structural, electrical, and mechanical engineers. In June, Garrett updated the “estimated” project budget to reflect all elements identified during the planning sessions. At the same time, we received an estimated interior budget from RLH Design for the interior finishes and the proposed furnishings.
Our July newsletter article indicated we would finalize the engineering drawings and bid documents by the end of August. On schedule, we will release those documents for competitive bids at the end of this month. Garrett will solicit bids from 3-4 subcontractors within each trade (electrical, carpentry, flooring, etc). We hope the aggressive bidding process will yield pricing close to the June estimated budget goals. The subcontractor bids must be submitted by mid-September.
Interior Design Process
In April, we conducted a series of focus groups to review the interior design goals. During the sessions, we presented four possible color palettes along with a variety of fabrics and wall coverings within each of those colorways.
Interestingly, there was a clear winner for the preferred color palette. Participating members strongly preferred a blue/green combination for the clubhouse. Members also unanimously supported the following design directives:
• Classic but updated style
• Integration of natural materials (woods, woven wall coverings)
• Decorative elements to highlight the club’s Audubon focus
• Lighten / brighten all spaces
• Clubhouse should feel more sophisticated than the Boathouse
• Keep the design unique to Collier’s Reserve

The Interior Committee, guided by RLH Design, developed a program that we feel meets member goals and will provide a stylish new interior that will differentiate our lovely clubhouse. With great attention to details and careful selections, the interior budget is well below original estimates. At the October Town Hall, we look forward to presenting the interior design plan with renderings, samples, and design boards.
