Club @ Sibos SPONSORED CONTENT Corporates at the table iGTB’s business is built around its clients’ clients. i GTB’s Contextual Banking Experience Platform (CBX) is the world’s first in- tegrated transaction banking platform. White-labelled to banks, it helps their corpo- rate customers manage their requirements, leveraging machine learning and predictive analytics to offer a number of “next best” options reflecting customer intent. “The advantage of CBX is the breadth of its coverage, encompassing the full range of transaction banking requirements for differ- ent industry segments,, such as airlines, edu- cation and insurance companies or different corporate structures, from listed multina- tionals to SMEs,” says Michel Jacobs, Head of Digital & Payments Products, iGTB. In addition, he notes, iGTB draws on expertise from within the banking industry to shape its offerings. Each of our business-line leaders has run the business on the bank side.”. The CBX platform covers the full breadth of corporate requirements, automatically highlighting issues and presenting a palette of possible decisions in response to each specific transactional context. “What matters to a busi- ness is all its balance sheet and P&L, but banks have traditionally tended to focus on what they offer – in silos – and not on what their cli- ents are trying to do,” says Jacobs (See Table 1). Clients making a payment, for example, are typically presented first with having to choose ‘how’ to pay – esoteric choices such as wire payments, ACH or RTGS – rather than ‘what’ to pay, let alone ‘why’. “It’s like an airline ask- ing its passengers what fuel they want used for their flight,” says Jacobs. iGTB’s mission, he explains, is to bring con- textual banking to banks’ clients. “Contextual Banking’s digital offering understands and anticipates what the business is trying to achieve in much the same way as Amazon and Siri,” he says. When it comes to engaging with the CBX platform, each bank will address its biggest pain point first, says Jacobs, but, based on experience, will then expand its engagement. “Although banks may select their entry point on the basis of where they feel the greatest pain, their use of CBX inevitably expands to other areas,” he says. “Smaller institutions may on the other hand want to leverage a full spectrum of capabilities ‘out of the box’ to optimise the benefits of integration.” Caveat emptor Jacobs recognises that the siloed nature of financial IT providers means that vendors Table 1: Corporate balance sheet anad P&L concerns Requirements Account Services Balance sheet P&L ASSETS REVENUE • Cash at bank • Sales Liquidity Management Cash Flow Forecasting Requirements Collections & Receivables Cash Flow Forecasting • Inventory Supply Chain Finance Working Capital Finance EIPP Supply Chain Finance Trade Finance Loans • Plant Investments Collections & Receivables • Debtors Supply Chain Finance Trade Finance Working Capital Finance LIABILITIES COSTS • Loans • Purchases Overdrafts Supply Chain Finance Portfolio Reporting Payments • Creditors • Salaries Single Debit Multi-credit • Tax Tax Payments Supply Chain Finance Liquidity Management EIPP • Cost of Capital Trade Finance Limit Management Portfolio Reporting Supplier Payments Portfolio Reporting Cash Flow Forecasting Liquidity Management NET WORTH PROFIT (LOSS) • Investments • Dividends Portfolio Reporting Treasury Risk have a habit of being acquired and that this should be front of mind when considering the longevity of a potential partnership. “How many payment technology vendors were in Intellect Design Arena Intellect Design Arena Ltd, a pioneer in Design Thinking for the financial industry, is the world’s first full spectrum Banking and Insur- ance technology products company, across Global Consumer Banking (iGCB), Central Banking, Global Transaction Banking (iGTB), B | CLUB@SIBOS | Bringing the world to Sibos and Sibos to the world their current company’s corporate container in 2014?” he asks. “’How far are you from selling off?’ is a question people should ask IT exhibitors at Sibos,” he suggests.
