ARE WE SUSTAINABLE?
Our Strategy for Sustainability
As part of the New Wave Group, we are dedicated to conducting business responsibly and contributing to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Our strategy focuses on addressing key global challenges like climate change, resource depletion, and social inequality— issues that also pose risks to our business, the planet, and the people connected to our value chain.
In line with these goals, we are committed to continue to grow our range of products that include preferred attributes— materials and processes designed to minimize harm to people and the planet.
Complying with EU Regulations
The European Union has introduced new regulations to address the increase of non-certified and made-up labels that can be misleading or confusing to the end-consumer. We take these matters seriously and are fully committed to complying with sustainability regulations. Even though most companies have the right intentions with such labels, these regulations are there to protect consumers from deceptive green claims. Through transparency from all companies, consumers can make well-informed decisions. As part of our commitment, we aim to be fully transparent about the preferred attributes in our collections.
Our commitment is reflected in two key areas:
CSR Initiatives and Collaborations:
As part of an environmentally conscious company group, we actively participate in corporate social responsibility( CSR) initiatives and partnerships through agreements and memberships.
Transparency in Materials and Products:
We emphasize the sustainability features of our garments and products by highlighting the key components in their fabrics. These attributes are clearly marked with icons, as described below.
Alliances & Partnerships
To achieve these ambitious goals, we leverage a strong global network of partnerships. Together with this network, we strive to improve the environmental and social impact of the textile industry. As listed on the next page, these partnerships support us in tackling challenges and keep us up to date with the newest developments and innovations in the industry. What we achieve on a company group level is presented yearly on www. nwg. se / en / csr /
Organic Cotton in selected garment lines
Discover our carefully curated selection of garments crafted with organic cotton. These products maintain the high quality and signature fit you expect from Clique, while embracing cotton grown with farming practices designed to minimize synthetic pesticides and fertilizers.
By sourcing organic cotton, we strive to support agricultural methods that prioritize soil health and ecosystem balance. These practices may also help reduce dependency on synthetic chemicals and genetically modified organisms( GMOs).
Recycled Polyester in selected garment lines
Designed for durability and performance, some of our garments feature fabrics that include recycled polyester. The use of recycled materials can help reduce the demand for virgin raw materials, by giving used materials a second life. Recycling processes play a key role in diverting waste from landfills, paving the way for more resource-efficient production systems.
Spun dyed Polyester in selected garment lines
Traditional dyeing methods typically involve treating fibers with dyes after they are produced, a process that can use significant amounts of water and chemicals. Spun-dyeing offers an innovative alternative by infusing color into the raw material before it is spun into yarn.
This technique creates fibers with consistent, long-lasting colors, while reducing the need for water in the dyeing process. Spun-dyeing represents a modern innovation in textile production, creating evenly dyed and vibrant colors.
