This restored Victorian home of Lumber Baron George M . Curtis shows period architecture with its original Tiffany glass windows , carved banisters , wood trim and massive fireplaces . It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places . The Clinton Women ’ s Club purchased the property in 1925 and has been operated by them since then . It is used for their meetings and also rented for receptions and other similar events . Tours are available by special appointment or during the summer months .

Clinton ’ s Discovery Trail is dedicated to three Clinton County astronauts : Cmdr . Dale A . Gardner ( U . S . Navy ), Dr . George D . ( Pinky ) Nelson and Col . David C . Hilmers ( U . S . Marine Corps ). Trail users will enjoy scenery of the Mississippi River . Riverview Park has many recreational facilities , including pickleball and sand volleyball courts , swimming , minor league baseball , and RV camping . Eagle Point Park features scenic bluffs . The trail now connects through Downtown Clinton , offering a 14 mile continuous trail from Eagle Point Park to Camanche , IA .

Eagle Point Park lodge sits high above the bluffs of the Mississippi River . The lodge was built in 1937 and recently renovated in 2016 . The lodge overlooks the Mississippi River and Lock and Dam 13 . Just north of the lodge reveals the widest point of the Mississippi River . The heated and air conditioned lodge is available year-round as a rental facility .

This 200-acre park offers views of the Mississippi River and the bluffs . Hiking , picnicking and cross-country skiing are a few opportunities offered by this historic landmark .
