Silent Auctions - Mitigating Brain Damage

The silent auction is a staple of non-profit fundraising events. In the late 90s and early 2000s, silent auctions were big money makers with a vast array of certificates to restaurants and spas, themed baskets full of treasures, artwork and anything else you can think of.

As fundraising events, especially as galas, have grown in popularity some of the appeal of silent auctions has maybe worn off among guests. Popular or not, there is no question that silent auctions can be a tremendous

amount of work potentially reducing ROI once time and effort of item

acquisition has been factored in. Especially if you’re a small

organization without a large volunteer committee.

So whether the event is big and lavish or intimate and maybe a little more boho,

let’s look at some ways to increase the ROI and make the silent auction work for you.
