Hats off to Fred Cummings for his cover article on
actor and singer Alan Cuming. I enjoyed reading the
piece immensely and learning of his memoir, "Not My
Father’s Son." He has a very compelling story that I
am sad to say hit home for me as the son of an abusive
father...his resilience and tenacity as described in the
article are all well represented in his cabaret show,
"Illegal Immigrant," which I am happy to say I will be
attending at Ravinia this summer....I am so glad you
chose to focus so much coverage on him and his work
in what was really a lovely issue.

What a splendid cover (and story) on Alan Cumming...
He was my favorite actors on The Good Wife and I was
intrigued to learn from the article that his role was based
Actor, writer, singer Alan Cumming (photo by on Mayor Rahm Emanuel...It was a good read and a
good introduction to your magazine, which I only just
Christopher Boudewyns)
recently discovered.
As a transplant from New York, I have been looking for a publication that focuses on the arts
in Chicagoand through one of my favorite actors, I’ve found it!
I can’t wait to get your next issue.

Passion for Dance (For Life)
A hearty thanks to you for the spot-
light your summer edition shined on
Dance for Life and its annual show at
Auditorium Theatre. I have been an
avid Chicago dance fan for over 20
years, and never have I seen a more
selfless and worthy effort than a com-
munity of dancers coming together
to help their own…I have attended
Dance for Life gala performances for
years and eagerly await this year’s
performance...
I was especially pleased to see
this year’s event chairs Mark and
Tom Ferguson Gomez profiled in
the article, and getting a behind-the-
scenes look at the planning process
was wonderful.
Thanks so much for the article.
