» VICTORIAN SLIDERS , MARket-leading sash window manufacturer , has announced the appointment of Nick Evans as its new Chief Executive Officer .
Nick , who joined the company in August 2023 as Strategic Development Director , brings considerable experience to lead the business through its next phase of growth .
Originally from a financial services background , Nick spent over 25 years in corporate banking , predominantly in mergers and acquisitions , working alongside private equity in a wide range of sectors including key investments in the building products space .
This was followed by seven years in a private equity backed business where he made a number of acquisitions and held the role of COO .
This breadth of experience positions him perfectly to help Victorian Sliders achieve its ambitious plans for the future . Nick comments : “ The company has made significant strides in product quality and customer service over the past three years with the backing of proven growth funders BGF , and I ’ m excited to build upon that success .”
The business occupies a unique position in UK fenestration , as the country ’ s most vertically integrated sash window manufacturer .

Software Gets Cloud Based Option For The First Time

» BM ALUMINIUM HAS confirmed the capability of a cloud solution for its LogiKal aluminium processing software , which means users can now access the software from anywhere at any time , and with even greater data security .
Daniel Hodges , BM Aluminium ’ s Technical Manager , explained the benefits : “ A cloud based option obviously means that users can log into LogiKal from wherever they are working and share files and documents more easily . It also makes it much easier and more cost effective for businesses to scale their LogiKal set up because they don ’ t need to invest in new IT infrastructure .”

Aluminium is providing a comprehensive guide on its website to walk customers through the recommended settings and system specification for a seamless transition .
The guide starts with pretested server specifications and includes recommendations on using SSD and NVMe storage for provide faster read and write speeds and better overall efficiency compared with traditional HDDs . It also covers firewall settings , configuring the necessary exceptions in anti-virus software , enabling back-ups and connecting to local network folders .
