A family company established in
1985, Duration Windows has today
developed into one of the UK’s
largest domestic aluminium door and
window manufacturers to the trade.
The company started originally
in secondary glazing, then
adding aluminium and then
PVCu windows manufacture but
Duration was ahead of its time
in envisaging the increasing
demand for aluminium, ceasing
supply of PVCu and increasing
capacity of aluminium, as they
saw that market develop and
refine in line with changing
consumer tastes.
Based in Canvey Island,
Essex and serving customers in
England (coast to coast) up to
Birmingham, the company offers
an extensive product range that
includes aluminium windows
and doors, bi-folding and sliding
doors, patio sliding doors, French
doors, roof lanterns, as well
as Heritage steel replacement
windows for renovation and
conservation building projects.
Another specialist area is the
heritage replacement market, in
which Duration has notched up
many highly successful projects in
buildings of different periods.
“Our Royale steel windows
from the Heritage range are ideal

for the replacement of the classic
Crittall steel windows because
they offer the thinnest profile
and are manufactured very
much on the same lines as the
originals,” Grant explained.
Because Duration is a
manufacturer, it is not directly
involved in listed building and
other planning matters, but
these considerations are taken
into account in the design and
manufacturing process.
The company has its own
Grand Design Exhibition
Centre.
Duration also offers an
