industrynews WORK STARTS ON 29,510 NEW HOMES Latest official housebuilding figures show a surge in new home starts during April and June. The Department for Communities and Local Government statistics show a 6% rise on the previous quarter and a one third jump on the same period last year. Work started on 29,510 new homes during the quarter with 178 of the 326 councils in England reporting an increase in housebuilding starts over the year.
