INDUSTRYNEWS HELP US CREATE THE PERFECT FIT FOR BUSINESS SEMINAR PROGRAMME FOR 2014 Tell Us What You Want To Know! The FIT Show FIT for Business seminar programme is designed to provide everyone attending its free seminars to walk away with ideas and knowledge that they can put to work immediately to benefit their business. This year’s programme had its clear winners: Paul Clifton’s sales seminars were an obvious favourite, with standing room only for those wanting to learn how to convert 8 out of 10 leads; and anything to do with CE Marking got the attention of dozens of delegates as this key legislation comes into play. For 2014 we want every session in the 3 day programme to be packed so that everyone attending can put what they learn to work immediately: one idea alone could be worth the visit to The FIT Show! We believe the best way to put together the perfect FIT for Business seminar programme is to ask the industry what it wants to know more about, what issues are of primary interest – what you can benefit most from. Simply visit The FIT Show web site at www.fitshow.co.uk/ seminars and fill in and submit the form. We will do what we can to include your idea in the programme. CLADDING FIRM IN ADMINISTRATION Cheshire based building envelope specialist Red Architectural is in administration. The firm’s production and fabrication division, Red Aluminium, is also now in the hands of administrators from Deloitte. Red’s existing contracts are expected to be traded-out within weeks as the business is wound-down. More than 50 jobs are believed to be at risk. A Deloitte spokeswoman said: “Deloitte has been appointed as administrator to Red Architectural Ltd and Red Aluminium Ltd. “We are currently advising staff and customers, and will provide further information in due course. “However, at this stage we do anticipate that trading out existing contracts will be short term only prior to an orderly wind down of the business.” Red has worked with a host of main contractors including Mace, Bowmer & Kirkland, Balfour Beatty, Carillion and Wates. Latest results show the company had a turnover of £29.7m for the year to March 2013 when it made a pre-tax profit of £47,000. Construction credit reference agency Top Service said it had received reports from 14 firms recently experiencing problems getting paid by Red. Source: Constructionenquirer.com TO THE RESCUE! Nick Trueman of Direct Window Supplies in Swindon eventually proved In 2013 things were a little bit different. While league table bragging rights remained the same, the game itself changed. Titled “Christmas Rescue”, evil trolls imprisoned Rudolf, Fairy and Santa, requiring one of Santa’s trusty elves to navigate through moving candy canes and hat-popping snowmen, all the while collecting Christmas puddings for energy along the way.
