INDUSTRYNEWS Lifetime achievement awards for installers An installer support body that promotes best practice for installers and the public will soon be announcing which home improvement companies have won its Lifetime Achievement Awards. Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) the Association provides Insurance Backed Guarantees (IBGs) and deposit protection to installers carrying out home improvements. The body will shortly announce which installers have been recognised as part of a programme the organisation runs to recognise its long-standing members of five, 10, 15 and 20 year periods. Only members that have consistently delivered a high level of service and excellent workmanship to homeowners are awarded. CPA Director Jeremy Brett comments: “What we do is all about raising standards in the industry for both installers and MANUFACTURING ACTIVITY REMAINS ROBUST – CBI Activity in the UK manufacturing sector remained robust in March and overall demand continued to rise. However, output growth and export orders eased on last month, according to the latest CBI Industrial Trends Survey. ‘Consistently delivered a high level of service’ homeowners, which is why we are committed to these Awards and recognising stand-out members. “Past winners have boosted their reputation significantly, gained extensive local press coverage and won new business off the back of winning this award. By winning the award they are seen by the public as leaders in their field.” Tel: 01462 850062. The survey found that total order books improved slightly again in the three months to March. Export orders fell back, but remained above average in 11 out of 17 sectors. Output growth also slipped to a five-month low, but still remained firmly above average. Growth is expected to edge up over the next three months. Anna Leach, CBI Head of Economic Analysis, said: “The picture in the sector remains positive. Overall, demand continues to rise and output growth is robust. “Growth in exports is crucial to rebalancing the economy and ensuring a sustainable recovery. In earlier surveys, export orders have underperformed relative to overall orders as the UK’s domestic recovery has caught hold more quickly than some of our key trading partners – most particularly, the Eurozone. ‘The picture in the sector remains positive’ “Measures announced in the Budget should help businesses to break into new, faster growing markets and underpin an improvement in the UK’s export performance.” NEW LOCATION FOR EXETER & MACKENZIE’S MARSH BARTON BRANCH Following the recent merger of Mackenzie Glass & Glazing into the expanding Cornwall Glass Group with Exeter Glass Centre in the Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter & Mackenzie Glass Centres Marsh Barton branch has moved to a new location within Marsh Barton trading estate in Exeter.
