£50k Expansion
Westcountry Glass has benefited from a £50k investment into its factory. With this new investment in machinery, factory space and workforce, it will help to meet the new demands that the company is receiving.
Westcountry Glass has experienced a growth of approximately 30% in the last 2 years, which has come from working very closely with existing customers to meet their needs and help them develop their businesses and from developing new accounts within the South West. Westcountry already holds some of the stateof-the-art equipment and latest technologies in the factory, which facilitates custom-made products ensuring customers’ requirements are met. The new machinery has now aided the assembly of solid spacer bar units so that it is now possible to seal up units on the fully automatic forel unit line. This therefore, speeds up production and enables Westcountry Glass to gas fill in large flood press in the same way as Super Spacer Gas Filling. This year it has also developed a new despatch hub as well as adding an 18 tonne delivery vehicle to complement the other two 7.5 tonne and sprinter vehicles. At the session, chaired by Richard Downey from The Mobile House, Stuart Wilson together with Will Dymott, Head of eCommerce at Lyle & Scott, will be giving further insight into how they have embraced mobile. This is the second year in a row that Stuart has been invited to participate. “For us, going mobile was part of our continued commitment

CHANGES TO HSE CONTACT ARRANGEMENTS
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has changed its contact arrangements to better direct those wishing to report an incident, notify workplace concerns or seek interpretation of guidance.
Following the decision to close Infoline in 2011, HSE no longer offers a telephone service for general information enquiries but has invested in making its website easier to use and its guidance simpler. • Notify HSE of a workplace concern • Make Gas Safety enquiries and notifications • Obtain technical advice or interpretation of guidance HSE is urging business and the public to use the website in the first instance, either to find information or notify HSE. New forms have been introduced so enquiries can be submitted quickly and easily online. A small team will be available in office hours to deal with calls from those who are unable to use the website or require further technical clarification. www.hse.gov.uk/contact
