Simple CE Marking of fire resistant IGUs and panic devices
CENSolutions, the leading consultancy and test facility for the window, door and glazing industries, is pleased to announce that, due to its strong relationships with TUV Rheinland and ER Certification Ltd, it can offer the testing, certification service and the consultancy related to the required Level 1 Attestation for fire resistant IGUs and Panic Devices on Emergency Exit doors in line with the Construction Product Regulation’s compulsory CE Marking. In order to ensure their fire resistant IGUs and panic hardware comply, manufacturers need to supply a publicly available Declaration of Performance, which demonstrates that they conform to all the mandatory requirements under EN1279 (fire resistant IGUs); EN179 and EN1125 (panic devices) to Level 1 Attestation. Thanks to CENSolutions, they will be able to do this with relative ease. Once there is an effective Factory Production Control procedure in place, fabricators and IGU manufacturers can simply cascade all the relevant test information and works instructions down to CENSolutions from their supplier partners, along with their written permission. ERC Certification Ltd carries out an audit on behalf of TUV. Upon passing this audit, the test certificate is awarded by TUV. Auctioning slabs on ebay for £5
Leading composite door manufacturer Door-Stop is using ebay to auction off its old, untouched door slabs and glazing cassettes, to make room for new stock. Fabricators and installers making their own composite doors can now bid for 40 lots of mixed pallets containing 25 Nan Ya slabs each. Bids start from £5 per slab, regardless of colour style or size! Managing Director Nick Dutton explains: “Before we designed and developed our own GRP slab and reglazable glazing cassette system, we bought some Nan Ya products. Our own product is so popular that we’ve been left with a large amount of unused Nan Ya stock and we need the space for new machinery, product and offices. So the time has come to get rid of it! “We’ve had the Nan Ya slabs for some time but they haven’t been touched since they were delivered – so they are as new. We’ll deliver them to any mainland UK address completely free of charge for bids over £30 per slab.” Cassettes are being auctioned separately, for equally good prices.
