ALUMINIUM
Specialist aluminium fabricator
brings new product to market
A leading specialist aluminium
fabricator has brought a new
product to market, as it continues
to offer its customers the
products and support required
to win business in the growing
aluminium sector.
Gloucester based CDW System is
known for launching a new product
each year, and its latest is Confort
160 (C160), which the fabricator
has brought to market together
with systems company SAPA.
Confort 160 is a high
performance, thermally
insulated sliding door.
Sales of aluminium sliding
doors have notably increased at
CDW Systems, and Managing
Director Jerry Webb says the
latest addition is a quality
product that will help installers
to continue to take advantage
of the growing domestic
and commercial aluminium
sector.
Jerry comments: “The
aluminium sector represents
a huge growth market for
installers and we utilise our
22 years’ experience to ensure
our customers have a suite of
products, and technical support,
that can help them take market
share and win contracts.
“Sliding doors are in demand
here, which is why we’ve decided to
supply this product, which is highend and technically advanced.”

Cutting commercial
door fabrication time
Jack Aluminium Systems’ Jack
Door saves fabricators one
hour’s productivity for every five
thermally improved doors they
make.
The growing demand for
thermally efficient commercial
doors can cause a bottleneck in
production, as fabricators have to
rout through the thermal break.
The Jack Door TD68 profile
features a unique thermal
break design that makes it
much quicker and easier to cut
during fabrication. However
manufacturers were still
slowed down by using a CNC
machine to rout the ends.
So Jack Aluminium worked
with its customers and J Tools to
design a new end miller, cutting
the process time from fifteen
minutes to just three. In practice,
fabricators can save one hour
production time for every five
Jack Doors made compared to a
typical thermally improved door.
“Thermally improved doors are
specified on an increasing number
of projects so making them
more efficient to manufacture
is important to us,” says Tim
Brookes, production manager at
Duplus Architectural Systems.
“Making Jack Doors with the
new end miller frees off the
fabrication line and has improved
productivity.” Jeff Pearson, Jack
Aluminium’s sales director added:
“The new end miller means we
can now help customers reduce
costs even further.”

action pivot commercial doors offer both
standard and anti-finger trap forms as well as a
fully rebated option with butt hinges. Double
and single door leaf options are included in
the range and a variety of door jamb and stile
formats offers the designer the flexibility to
achieve the entrance required.
The fully complementary System 5-20 Tilt
an d Turn Window provides all the advantages
of polyamide thermal break technology in
meeting current thermal building regulation
requirements. Tilt ventilation and the ability
to clean the windows from inside the building
make System 5-20 the easy choice for any
application.
