SMALLER FOOTPRINT FOR HARDWARE GIANT
» » LED LIGHTING HAS BEEN
installed across Carl F Groupco’s Peterborough
warehouse, along with motion sensors that
will further increase energy savings. The
advancement is the latest initiative by the
hardware distributor to minimise impact
on the environment. At the hub of Carl F
Groupco’s business, working to meet the
company’s On Time In Full delivery ethos
supplying over 7,000 product lines, the
warehouse was identified as a key area to
enhance environmental efficiency.
Representing an investment of over
£20,000, the hardware distributor’s
environmental initiative has been supported
by an EU Energy Efficiency grant which
was achieved with assistance from the
Business Energy Efficiency Cambridge and
Peterborough Programme.
The new warehouse lighting will reduce
the company’s CO2 from 34.84 tonnes to
6.92 tonnes per annum: this represents a
saving of 27.91 CO2 (tonnes) or a saving of
68,156kWh, based on Energy Performance
Assessment (EPA) data this is equivalent to
the energy required to charge over six million
Smart phones.

of the movers and shakers from across the

Tony Higgin, Managing Director of the
G-Awards, Comments: “The value of long
term sponsorship cannot be understated, and
when it runs for 10 years then it becomes
something very special.
It is fair to say without their support, and
many like them, the G Awards would not
be able to function in the manner it does,
and for that, I am very grateful. Long may it
continue.”
Managing Director, Gwain Paterson adds:
“The G-Awards is the grand occasion that we
look forward to attending and raise a glass to
all those shortlisted for an award.”
