Idyllic introduction for Penrith’s new
Independent Network member
» » NORTH LAKES NLG
Window Systems has been
quick to take full advantage
of its Independent Network
membership, having joined the
pioneering installer support
organisation just six months
ago.
Recently rebranded from
Network VEKA, Independent
Network recognised North
Lakes with one of two ‘Best
New Member’ awards at its
annual Members’ Weekend. The
Penrith-based company has been
full of praise for the benefits
that membership has brought,
such as training; marketing
support and heightened customer
confidence.
Martin Smith, who owns
and operates the company,
commented: “Independent
Network really helps to make the
most of being a VEKA installer.
Not only are customers reassured
that they’re buying the industry’s
leading doors and windows, but
they’ll also be fitted to the highest
standards – guaranteed.
“Since joining, we’ve attended
various Independent Network
training days, and feel more
than ever that we’re fully ‘up to
speed’ with industry advances
as a result. Only companies that
meet a stringent set of standards
can become Independent
Network members. They are then
continually assessed to ensure
those standards are maintained,
with homeowners completing
customer satisfaction awards
to both trigger their ten-year
insurance-backed guarantee, and
highlight any issues arising from
the installation.”

The Foundation Certificate is an intensive
eight-month programme that begins in

with practical skills and knowledge that they
can apply immediately to make a positive
impact within their business.
The course is largely delivered online,
but also includes a number of face-to-face

ROOF MAKER LIGHTS UP HIT ITV PROGRAMME
» » ROOF MAKER, THE UK’S
leading rooflight manufacturer,
is set to star in ITV’s home
improvement show Love
Your Home and Garden. The
company has donated several of
their industry-leading rooflight
products to ITV, and will feature
in two episodes aired in late
August.
Fronted by Alan Titchmarsh,
the programme sees a team of
home improvement experts
surprise deserving families
in difficult circumstances
by completely transforming
their property, and regularly
draws upwards of four million
viewers.
The first episode features
a young family in Eltham
with a 9-year-old son who has
quadriplegic cerebral palsy. The
house isn’t suitable for the child’s
needs, so a team of builders
revamped the garden, kitchen and
living room, making it wheelchair
accessible.
The second episode focusses
on a family in Banbury whose

mother suffered a stroke a few
years ago and was recently
diagnosed with breast cancer.
She has since lost most of her
vision and can only see if there’s
good natural light. Roof Maker
products are designed to let
natural light flood into the home
and were deemed perfect for the
project.
Donating products to ITV is
the latest in a series of charitable
acts by the firm.
