4. A GLASS ABOVE THE REST
Fibreglass is used in more than
just window frames, cars and boats.
Its strength and rigidity means that
it is used to make bridges, gliders
and even helicopter blades. It can be
found all over the world, performing
tasks that no one would have even
thought fibreglass was capable of,
and yet its uses remain relatively
unknown.
6. DON’T BLOW A GASKET
Fibreglass expands in line with window
glass, removing the need for unsightly
gaskets to hold the pane in place and
providing a minimal, stylish finish.
5. THE STRONG, SILENT TYPE
Boavista window frames are strong enough to hold glass panes up to 6.5 metres square
in size. Even its sliding doors can withstand single panes weighing up to 250kg – that’s
dramatically larger than standard uPVC frames. And if its strength doesn’t impress, then
hopefully the fact that fibreglass is a natural insulator with low thermal and acoustic
conductivity, which keeps the heat in and noise out, will.
7. BOAVISTA IS 100% RECYCLABLE
Whilst Boavista has an exceptionally long lifecycle, when the windows eventually need
replacing they can simply be shredded into sections and then mixed with concrete and
asphalt to deliver a lightweight, stronger and crack and shrinkage-resistant composite
material – a process that requires very low energy to carry out.
Boavista is Europe’s first full range of fibreglass window frames that set new industry
standards in sustainability, durability and performance.
Created as a sustainable alternative to uPVC and aluminium frames, Boavista aims to
contribute towards reducing the UK’s carbon footprint within the built environment
without compromising on design, function or form.
