» » WARM EDGE EXPERTS EDGETECH

industry to a celebration marking a decade of
UK manufacturing.
The company’s Coventry factory became
the first warm edge manufacturing facility
in the country back in 2007. Exactly ten
years on, dignitaries including Bill Griffiths
and George Wilson from parent company
Quanex and John Blundell, Deputy Lord
Mayor of Coventry, marked the anniversary
by officially opening a $1.3m extension to
the same site.
Attendees heard presentations from
Edgetech UK Managing Director Chris
Alderson, President of Quanex IG Systems
George Wilson, who has since been
promoted to COO of the Quanex Group,
Quanex Chairman and CEO Bill Griffiths.
The Quanex Chairman’s Safety Award
was presented to Works Manager John Stark
to recognize Edgetech UK’s impeccable
safety record, while Head of Marketing
Charlotte Davies received a £1,000 donation
from the company towards her efforts for
Paddle2Pedal, to raise money for the Hope
House Children’s Hospice.
Attendees made generous charity
donations also totaling £1,000 sterling and

further £500 in dollars and euros which

GGF PRESIDENT HIGHLIGHTS POSITIVE CHANGES
» » THE GLASS AND GLAZING
Federation (GGF) is looking
forward to a very positive
future, despite some media
speculation of internal disruption
as the organisation undergoes a
transitional period.
John Agnew, GGF President
issued the following statement
to reassure GGF Members and
related stakeholders that the
GGF and its group of subsidiary
companies are on a progressive
path to grow and serve the
industry.
GGF PRESIDENT’S
STATEMENT
As President and Chairman
of the Board of Directors of the
Glass and Glazing Federation,
I would like to highlight the
positive change at the GGF in the
last 12 months.
The changes to the
management structure and the
organisation’s direction were
unanimously agreed by the GGF
Board. The Board decisions taken
and resultant changes in the past
year are to be applauded as they
were strong decisions made in the
best interests of GGF Members
and the wider industry. The
changes have also been accepted
and welcomed by the GGF
Group Staff.
As with most businesses
during a transition period, there
will inevitably be some more
changes along the way, but
rest assured none will be to the
detriment of the GGF and its
Members.
