GQA Qualifications is the Fenestration Industry’s
leading awarding body. Offering over 120 workplace
relevant qualifications, deliverable by over 100
approved centres across the UK qualifications available
to the industry include Fabrication, Surveying, Window
and Door Installation, Glass Manufacture and Glazing,
Curtain Walling and Façade Installation, Health and
Safety, Warehousing, Sales and Management.
GQA also recently announced the acquisition of
another awarding body issuing qualifications into
the sector for Polymers which will see its number
of industry related qualifications rise further.
GQA ACQUIRES NEW
AWARDING BODY
In August 2019, GQA Qualifications
announced that it had acquired PAA\VQ-SET
the awarding body for the Polymer sector. This
acquisition has enabled GQA to expand its
involvement in the Fenestration Industry by
working with many of the leading PVCu systems
houses who offer qualifications in Polymer
related disciplines as a part of their on-going staff
training and development programmes.
Speaking about the acquisition CEO of
GQA Qualifications Mick Clayton said,
“We have always enjoyed an excellent
relationship with PAA\VQ-SET knowing that
like ourselves they offer workplace relevant
qualifications into the wider Fenestration
Industry, as well as some other sectors.
“When the opportunity arose to acquire the
organisation the board of GQA were quick to
sanction discussions and then a deal – it was
obvious from the first moment that having
their qualifications as a part of our portfolio
would significantly enhance our presence in
the Fenestration Industry and the breadth of
our offering.”

CSCS CARDS
In addition to its range of industry relevant
qualifications, on 1st September 2017 GQA
Qualifications became the only organisation
licensed to issue CSCS Cards for the Glass and
Glazing sector.
This applies to temporary, trainee and full
cards as well as renewals for expiring and
expired cards and applies to GQA candidates
and achievers as well as those of all other
awarding organisations offering glass industry
qualifications.
Additionally. GQA can issue CSCS Q-cards
for construction related qualifications as well.
GQA has produced a comprehensive guide
to CSCS Cards including details of what
qualifications applicants need to be accepted
onto the scheme, what type of cards are most
relevant to the individuals, and how to apply.
