NEW LUMINIA VERANDA SYSTEM
» » ALUK HAS OFFICIALLY
launched its new Luminia Veranda
system, designed to give customers
an exciting new business strand
targeting all those homeowners
who want to make more of their
outdoor living space.
The stylish glazed Veranda
perfectly bridges the gap between
house and garden, and provides
fabricators and installers with
a potentially valuable new sales
opportunity.
The Luminia Veranda is
available in four different models
to suit any contemporary or
traditionally styled property and
in four popular coloured finishes -
white, cream, quartz and volcan,
all with the reassurance of the
Qualicoat quality label.
The Premium model features
thermal breaks, allowing it to be
combined with low threshold,
easy glide glass sliding doors and
protective side walls to create a
truly year-round indoor/outdoor
option. The Modern model is a
more contemporary option with
slimmer sight lines, while the
two Enhanced models – available
with standard or Victorian style
guttering, are the ones designed
for larger open spans.
Alongside the stylish aesthetics,
the Luminia Veranda is a great
illustration of AluK’s renowned
design innovation. It has clever
features like invisible fixings,
water drainage pipes integrated
within the posts, adjustable roof
pitches, and cable-free LED
lighting solutions.

Perfectly made for the market
» » IT’S SAID THAT CUSTOMER
feedback is the best way to gauge a product’s
success. And feedback about Profile 22’s
Optima system is perfectly demonstrating the
impact it’s having on the market.
Ryan Johnson, Managing Director of
Emplas says: “Profile 22 and Epwin have
taken the feedback from fabricators and
installers and brought that into the design of
Optima. It’s made for the market now – there
isn’t another system which is so current or
which offers installers so many different sales
platforms.”
Many fabricators are concerned about
what switching to a new system will do to
their production schedules but with Profile
22 change need not be difficult. In 2016 the
company successfully undertook a complete
changeover of nearly 100 Profile 22 fabricators
to Optima in just nine months and have
seamlessly brought on-board a significant
number of new fabricators so far this year
too.
All this positive feedback is reflected in
Optima figures. Record numbers of fabricators
are switching to Optima and sales figures are
very strong. This is testimony to the added
value Optima offers.

NEW STYLEMAKEOVER VIDEOS
» » A NEW SERIES OF CONSUMER
‘makeover’ videos from Solidor is designed to
help installers sell by showing homeowners
just what a difference a new door can make.
The leading composite door manufacturer
has commissioned a series of professional
videos of makeovers on real homes, hosted by
property developer/vlogger and TV presenter
Georgina Burnett.
The first video is now available to view
on the SolidorLtd Youtube channel:
http://youtu.be/v2kXV-rV6YQ. Georgina
interviews homeowner Elaine, who wants a
replacement for her old 28mm PVC-U white
panel door. On closer inspection, the door

proves to have many problems, including
a tatty handle with pitting problems,
seals coming away from the corners and a
‘knackered’ lock strip. Moreover, the cylinder
takes just 5 seconds to snap with mole
grips!
The homeowner chooses a new Offset
French door from Solidor’s Italia range as it
needs to open out fully to allow access for her
daughter, who uses a wheelchair, and goes out
for the day while the installation team work.
On her return, she’s delighted with her front
door: the Brescia in Chartwell Green with
chrome fittings and Matrix glass. Meanwhile,
the presenter highlights key features.
