RECORD PRODUCTIVITY AND
SALES SEES STEADY GROWTH
» » STEDEK WINDOWS AND DOORS
Limited manufactures Profile 22, Swish and
Residence Collection PVCu window and
door products. Established in 1994 by father
and son Steve and Alex Page, the business is
celebrating record productivity and sales.
Richard Hammond, who joined the
company in 2014 as Sales Director, said: “I
want to take this opportunity to thank each
customer along the way, each supplier that has
supported us, the people in and around the
business that have contributed with guidance,
hard work, teamwork and dedication.”
Stedek has seen significant
growth in the new build sector
since achieving a CMS Gold
mark for quality assurance /
PAS24 and BS6375 Parts 1 and
2. Currently, the company has a number of
new build contracts on the go and finds this is
becoming a growing strength.
Stedek also caters for the premium end of
the market, fabricating the entire Residence
Collection suite of profiles including R7
R2 (Squared) and R9 offering the choice of
welded and mechanical solutions.
Residence sales have grown, which has
allowed Stedek to set up a second factory
dedicated to mechanical Residence. Order
values have seen an increase too, so the
company is continuing to enjoy steady gains
across frame count, turnover and bottom
line.

Tools for the job: £1.4m to
machinery investment
» » EMPLAS HAS CONTINUED ITS
major investment programme with a
£1.4million spend on new machinery – giving
it a total output capacity of 2,500 frames on a
single shift.
This includes the purchase of a new Rotox
eight-head welder and cleaning line, giving
Emplas two fully automated lines.
It’s also invested in a new Rotox high
speed sash cleaner, increasing sash output by
more than 20% and a Rotox five-head inline
welder, giving Emplas a total of three five-head
welders and one four-head welder.

A second Rotox crucifix welder is also added
to Emplas’ machinery inventory, as are two
new Rotox bead lines and a second Schirmer
machining and cutting centre.
In addition to machinery investment a
major extension of Emplas’ operational hub
is already well underway. Scheduled for
completion in the autumn, it will give the
fabricator 18,000 sq ft of additional floor
space.
This investment in machinery and
square footage has also been underpinned
by a corresponding investment in its IT
infrastructure, linking production to its
ordering processes, customer tools, and
increasing visibility of production to Emplas
customer services teams.
