HARDWARE& SECURITY
Absolutely
‘Supa’
»»There’s a new ‘Supahero’ in
town with the launch of Mila’s new Supa range
of superior grade stainless steel hardware.
Mila is promising ‘Supa’ performance,
‘Supa’ reliability, ‘Supa’ strength and, above all,
‘Supa’ corrosion resistance from a new range
developed in house.
The first products to be released are two
door handles. Like the rest of the Supa range,
they are available in two grades of stainless
steel – 304 with 18% chromium and 8%
nickel for general applications, and 316 with
16% chromium, 10% nickel and an added
2% molybdenum for coastal regions and areas
of high pollution.
The addition of the molybdenum gives
the 316 marine grade additional corrosion
resistance, particularly when the surface
becomes scratched and vulnerable to corrosion
in chloride environments. As a result, Mila
is recommending 316 stainless steel for any
applications within ten miles of the coast or
where pollution levels are high.
Mila’s new Supa door handles are available
in 220mm and 240mm backplate sizes to suit
most UK locking systems with both sprung
and unsprung door locks.
An anti-sag spring mechanism within
the backplate also ensures that the lever
consistently returns back to 90º
The handles have been independently tested
for strength and reliability to BS EN 1670:
2007 Grade 5 achieving 200,000 cycles under
load in the 100kg pull test and the 316 grade
had achieved an impressive 1000 hours in a
salt spray test.
As well as these door handles, Mila’s Supa
range will also include high security handles,
letter plates, door knockers and escutcheons
in four suited colours - polished stainless steel,
polished gold, smokey chrome and brushed
satin stainless steel.

Continuous
Growth
»»The Reddiplex
manufacturing site in Droitwich
has recently undergone a major
regeneration, which includes a
factory extension to the No.2
factory extruding PVC Flexible
and EPDM solid and sponge
rubber. This factory has also had
a full roof replacement making it
more thermally efficient.
The extension compliments
the strong growing
manufacturing footprint by
reducing pressure on the
existing facilities and enabling
each area to remain focused
on its own product lines. This
extension also allows an increase
in overall production capacity to
meet the ever-growing demand
for Flexible PVC and EPDM
profiles.
Reddiplex has invested in
additional processing machinery
including new extrusion lines
with downstream and ancillary
equipment. This equipment
has now been installed and
the extended factory is now
fully operational. The complete
Reddiplex site now has over
30,000m/sq of floor space for
manufacturing and warehouse
operations. This further

an exciting move for Reddiplex,
and brings with it a range of
additional customers, products
and new market sectors.
Reddiplex welcomes all
