MACHINERY Roofing team over the moon with second saw The team at Planet Roofing have been so delighted with the quality and reliability of Haffner Murat machinery that the company has invested in a second new machine. » » PAUL RICKMAN OF PLANET Roofing explains: “We first approached Haffner Murat at the start of 2019 and purchased a new TT405 Computerised Saw. The quality and the efficiency of the machine has resulted in us approaching them again and have now purchased a second TT405 Computerised Saw to help further improve our manufacturing efficiencies.” The TT405 Computerised Saw is a double cut saw for PVC-u and aluminium profiles up to 70mm which gives it great flexibility. The accuracy of the machine is impressive too, a feature that Paul wholeheartedly agrees with. He said: “The machine delivers on many levels. It is very straightforward to use and cuts fast and accurately every time. It offers a small footprint as it takes up little space in the factory which suited our manufacturing layout. We also took the option of having an extra long 6 metre bed added to the machine to suit our requirements and this is a feature that similar saws just cannot deliver. It is a well-designed machine and we are delighted.” The TT405 Computerised Saw uses easy to use touch screen technology which can be operated via USB data control or a network connection. You can pivot the saw heads from 45 to 90 degrees and set up point to point cutting via the computer, eliminating profile tolerance and improving quality. Continued investment in machinery suggests a growing, successful business and that’s exactly what Planet Roofing is. The Essex-based company manufactures a large range of aluminium roof lanterns and skylights for their trade customers throughout the UK and pride themselves on their work quality and service. Repeat custom is always the best form of endorsement and Planet Roofing’s relationship with Haffner Murat demonstrates this perfectly. www.haffnermurat.com New Model is One L of a Machine » » EMMEGI HAS JUST launched a new L3 20-axis version of its flagship Quadra machining centre which, like all the models in the range, can cut, drill and machine aluminium and light alloys all in one single operation. It sits alongside the existing Emmegi Quadra L0, L1 and L2 models, which have already been installed at some of the UK and Ireland’s leading fabricators including Duggans, Everglade, Express Bi-Folds, Newbury, TWR and Unique Window Systems What distinguishes this new L3 model is a secondary module equipped with a dual drilling unit which can also mill, drill and tap at the ends of profile if required. It also features an impressive CNC operated 600mm vertical cutting module with downward movement on 3 axes and a range from -45° to +245°. This is in addition to a 350mm horizontal cutting module mounted on the same support beam as the drill, with a range from -45° to +45° which allows the L3 to cut large bars and execute special cuts. The new L3 adds an automatic push feed and ejector system which works with different profiles of up to 7500mm, automatically transferring each machined segment from the cutting unit to the unloading magazine and synchronising the pick-up of the next. And, a brand new turntable and disengagement system on the machine also allows up to 6 air-cooled electrospindles to operate on 4 axes at the same time (X,Y,Z and A) which increases its speed quite dramatically. As with the rest of the models in the Quadra range, all cutting, milling and drilling on the L3 are located in the central, soundproofed enclosure which ensures that it is a safe and user-friendly option even for a relatively unskilled workforce. Ian Latimer, Emmegi (UK)’s Managing Director, said: “All of the Quadra models are capable of outputting the profile for hundreds of windows a week. They have little or no profile related tooling and minimal changeover time which makes them increasingly popular with companies who fabricate in several different systems. Emmegi is constantly refining and expanding its entire product range so we really do have a machine for every application and this new L3 adds some significant new features for customers producing specialist elements.” www.emmegi.com C L E A RV I E W-U K .
