NEW GLAZING
CASSETTE MUSIC TO
HOMEOWNERS’ EARS
» » ODL EUROPE HAS JUST
launched ZEEL™, a new
contemporary glazing cassette.
Nathan Barr, Managing Director
of ODL Europe, said: “ODL
Europe has an impressive track
record of listening to customer
needs and expectations and
developing innovations that
deliver on them. The new ZEEL™
glazing cassette is the perfect
example of this.”
ZEEL™ is a sleek, versatile
glazing cassette that blends
seamlessly into the door allowing
the door glass to take centre stage.
Nathan commented: “ZEEL™
features the flush-profile design
today’s homeowners love. It’s
the next generation of glazing
cassettes.”
As well as an innovative new
design, the ZEEL™ cassette
features a number of other
industry advances. It is the first
glazing cassette to feature ODL’s
proprietary PC/ABS blend for
increased durability and it comes
untreated so it can be stained or
painted in any RAL colour to
perfectly match the door.
It is constructed from
FiberMate Plus™, ODL’s recently-
developed cassette material that
is made with a higher percentage
of fibreglass to increase durability
and reduce water egress.
The new ZEEL™ cassette uses
an innovative clip system that
eliminates the need for unsightly
screws and reduces installation
time. This means it is also possible
to replace just the glass and frame
in the event of damage, rather
than the entire door as in the case
with other door systems.
The ZEEL™ glazing cassette
is available now in 7 x 64 size
option. Sizes 22 x 36, 8 x 36,
22 x 17 will be available later
this year. Designed with glass
aperture and door cut out
dimensions the ZEEL™ glazing
cassette suites perfectly with
ODL Europe’s additional glazing
cassette range and can be used
in conjunction with current
established door glass sizes,
including the clear and decorative
options offered by the company.
Nathan concluded: “Today’s
homeowners have high
expectations. The ZEEL™ cassette
gives installers a competitive edge
because it offers outstanding
aesthetics and durability in one.”

WHALLEY RANGE WINDOW CASE STUDY
» » OVER 500 PROFILE 22 OPTIMA
Flush Casement Windows were installed in a
private housing development in Whalley Range,
Manchester.
The main contractor for the project was
Lane End Group and the contract for the
windows and doors in the development was
awarded to Profile 22 Approved Contractor
Kingfisher Windows, a leading manufacturer
and supplier of windows, doors and
conservatories.
The site was on land formerly owned by
the prestigious independent school St Bede’s
College and situated near a local conservation
area. It meant the development needed to
be sympathetic to the character of the local
architecture.
The Profile 22 Optima Flush Casement
Window more than met the demanding
requirements of the development. Jonny
Reynolds, Technical Director at Kingfisher
Windows, said: “The Optima Flush Casement
Window offers the perfect solution for
developments in areas protected by

conservation orders that need a window that
replicates the 19th-century timber window
design, whilst offering modern features and
benefits.”
The windows for the Scholars Walk
development were fabricated in grey on white
to deliver a striking but architecturally sensitive
appearance.
Construction on the Scholars Walk
development was completed in July 2019. With
over 500 windows needing to be installed, all
Kingfisher Windows’ experience in working
on large scale developments was required.
Jonny said: “We believe the best results come
from in working in partnership with all the
other trades on site and keeping lines of
communication open at all times.”
The completed project brings much-needed
family housing to Manchester. Jonny concluded:
“We were delighted to be part of a project
building housing for this area and we’re very
proud of the high-quality results achieved.”
