PROUD SPONSOR OF DOORS & WINDOWS DOORS&WINDOWS Showroom of the month » » ASSOCIATED WINDOWS has been awarded Solidor’s Showroom of the Month for its display of eight Solidor and four Residor composite doors, at the recently-refurbished showroom in North Bristol. The company has recently made the move to solely focus on Residor and Solidor composite doors, as Rob McDonald, director at Associated Windows explains: “First and foremost, Solidor Group is a world-class business and let’s not forget the importance and influence of the Residor brand. Our new showroom is really paying dividends as is the power behind the respective brands, which customers ask for by name. On time and in full deliveries with exceptional quality every time are also a major plus for us and that’s why we only sell these two composite door brands.” Operating in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire areas, Associated Windows has built a strong reputation in the area for the products they offer coupled with the quality of installation. While being a long-standing Solidor customer, it is only recently that it has looked to introduce what the team believes to be the best mid- market GRP composite door with Residor. www.associatedwindows.co.uk www.solidor.co.uk The future is flush sash » » INDEPENDENT RESEARCH OF the PVC-U flush sash market reports nearly half of the fabricators interviewed see flush sashes becoming as important as standard casement windows in the next 10 years. And a quarter of those who don’t make flush sashes now said they expected to start in the next twelve months. Timberweld is a patented method of welding perfect corners to create an authentic timber-look butt-joint effect. Uniquely, Timberweld allows fabricators to create the timber-look on both sides of the window. Earlier this year Timberweld commissioned MRA Research to conduct independent research into the flush sash and timber alternative market with fabricators. All the fabricators interviewed welded their flush sashes, with 85% of joints (by volume) being welded and 15% mechanically jointed. Ninety percent of those who welded, welded conventionally with 45-degree corner grooves. “The research echoes what we’ve found in the market – fabricators are looking to create a timber-look butt-joint cost-effectively at scale comments Alan Burgess, MD of Timberweld. But a significant number thought mechanically jointing was ‘a pain to fabricate’ and want to weld to meet volume demand cost effectively.” [email protected] “It delivers everything the market is looking for” » » THE FRONTIER COMPOSITE DOOR range, one of the latest additions to Profile 22’s portfolio is proving popular and enjoying strong sales figures.
