Roof takes it up a level
»»THE STRATUS IS THE
latest conservatory roof offering
from Synseal. It delivers
both best-in-class thermal
performance and sleek, stylish
looks with its thermally-broken
ridge, rafters and eaves beams,
and discrete, custom-designed
radius end caps. The system
provides up to 65% better
thermal efficiency than standard
aluminium roof systems, and is
available in sizes up to 2m by
6m with a 20˚ pitch.
“The Stratus is exactly the
kind of product the market is
crying out for,” commented Zac
Nedimovic, Astraseal marketing
manager. “The Stratus roof is the
perfect example of a product that
excels in all areas – delivering
extremely fashionable aluminium
aesthetics and fantastic thermal
performance, while still coming
in at a competitive price. As
such, we’re predicting it will be
a runaway success – and help
our trade clients secure a lot
of new business.” The Stratus
was revealed at this year’s FIT
Show.
“At Astraseal, we’re really
proud of what we’ve been
able to achieve with our
conservatories service,” Zac
concluded. “As ever, we’d be
delighted to hear from any
installers looking to learn
more about our conservatories
offering, or taking the first
steps to becoming an Astraseal
customer.”

has announced it will be stocking
Res-Tec’s GRP Roof 1010 System
in its stores. Res-Tec’s GRP Roof
1010 System has an impressive
list of credentials and is said to
be a must-have for installers. The
system is applied cold, is easy to
transport and can also be installed
in temperatures as low as 5°C or
as high as 30°C. This means the
risks associated with hot works
are eliminated and scheduling
roofing works becomes a lot less
weather-dependent.
Geoff Foster, National Plastics’
managing director, says: “GRP
is the fastest growing sector of
the flat roof market. We pride
ourselves on offering the products
our customers need and Res-Tec’s
GRP Roof 1010 System offers a
wealth of benefits.”
He said it was an attractive
product for homeowners too.
The membrane is seamless,
even around detailing work, so
there are no potential weak
spots where leaks can occur.
It’s extremely tough and impact
resistant, so it provides protection
from post-installation damage that
‘GRP is the fastest
growing sector of
the flat roof market’
can occur from foot traffic or
falling slates. It’s also fire-retardant
and a non-slip version is available
for balconies or walkways. Finally,
all installations are supported
by Res-Tec’s trusted 20-year
materials guarantee.

Adding Colour

specialist Summit has introduced
four more colours into its range
of 405mm wide, double ended
capping boards.
The 405mm wide board, known
as a ‘double ended cover board,’ is
9mm thick. With the introduction
of the new colours, cream, white,
anthracite grey and Irish oak, it is
now available in the full range of
eight Summit colourways, all in a
range of widths from 150mm to
405mm.
The 405mm board is specifically
designed for deeper roofline
applications, typically for the
gable side of the box end, where
a smooth, one-piece unit can be
formed without the unsightly
joints usually required when two
boards are fitted together.
Because of its superior
durability and maintenance-free
characteristics, Cellular PVCu is
widely used as a capping board
for timber fascia boards that are
still sound.

Summit cellular PVCu is a
highly cost effective material for
use at the roofline because it costs
roughly the same as timber to
install, requires no maintenance
and so suits the exposed and
inaccessible location at the eaves.
