GLASSTECREVIEW
Yet another
fantastic Glasstec
»»THE BIENNIAL TRADE
fair, Glasstec, is the world-leading
show for glass production,
processing and products, offering
an unparalleled overview of the
industry. Hosted in Dusseldorf,
Glasstec opens its doors to an
array of expertise and products on
an exceptional scale, celebrating
innovation, engineering and
craftsmanship.
This year, innovative
GlazeAlarm® has returned to
Glasstec with a bang. GlazeAlarm,
the disruptive Internet of Things
(IoT) home security system,
enjoyed unprecedented footfall
to its stand, with many industry
professionals singing praises for
the product, which allows glazing
manufacturers and installers to
compete in the security sector for
the first time.
The GlazeAlarm product is,
without a doubt, the most robust
and tamper-proof glass-break
security solution available. It has
applications for use in both the
residential and commercial sectors,
allowing users to manage the safety
and security of their premises
remotely.
Armco Key Security, the trading
arm of GlazeAlarm, first showcased
the security product at Glasstec
in 2014 and returned this year
to demonstrate the production
version of the glass sensor with
further functionalities that have
been made to the prototype.
Among the latest developments
is the introduction of iOS,
Android and Windows apps,
which alert the user to a breakage
on their chosen devices, no matter
where they may be.
Ian Branagan, CEO, said: “It
has been yet another fantastic
show at Glasstec. The footfall to
our stand was extraordinary and
it was wonderful to see and hear
that so many people have a keen
interest in GlazeAlarm.
“We
have returned to
the UK with many promising
leads from across the globe.
From America to South Korea,
Italy to Australia and Portugal to
America, we have been able to
talk to some fantastic suppliers,
all interested in taking our
GlazeAlarm product to the next
level.”
A patent pending wireless,
shock and humidity sensor
system, GlazeAlarm is installed
within a double-glazed unit
(DGU) during manufacture and
will notify the user immediately
upon a breakage of the glass via
an app on their chosen smart
device.
The app provides users with
tools to select their safety and
security preferences, establish
zones within their home or
office and create personalised
notification processes. It uses an
embedded software design that
enables the wireless network hub
to communicate with detectors
throughout the property,
providing window monitoring for
breakage and intrusion protection.
Users simply create an online
account, register their sensors and
download the GlazeAlarm app to
their chosen devices.
GlazeAlarm has a target date for
full production and delivery of Q1
2017.
