PIGS
Flying High
The People in Glazing
Society (PIGS)
Birmingham event saw
the highest attendance
for the glazing network,
just ahead of its first
international PIGS at
GlassBuild America in Las
Vegas on 20th October.
»»PIGS ORGANISER SARAH
Ball from Balls2 Marketing said: “The
glazing industry has been in good health
over the past two years. It’s great that
PIGS has become an essential part of the
calendar – companies from across the
supply chain recognise it’s the perfect
chance to get out and about to catch up
on the latest news in glass and glazing.
“At the heart of PIGS’ success is the
generosity of our sponsors bringing home
the bacon. All of the money goes behind
the bar to get the party started and it’s
become something of a tradition to guess
at what time the kitty runs dry.
“For Birmingham, we actually ran a
sweepstake. Iain Britton from Edgetech
UK was the winner of a pack of Percy
Pigs for being nearest to the time,
7:45pm.”

JOLLY GOOD SHOW
»»THE ROOF ASSURED TEAM
enjoyed success at the Homebuilding and
Renovating Show at Excel in London. A
continuous stream of visitors attended the
stand interested in learning more about
the Sarnafil single ply membrane as a
flat roofing solution for their self-build
project.
Over 22,000 visitors walked through
the doors of the show which was a 9.6%
increase on 2015 footfall and a 10% year on
year increase.
Charles Pierce, head of sales, Single
Ply Membrane, Sika Roofing, said: “It
was a great show with a large number of
people interested in the Sarnafil single ply
membrane. You usually find that visitor
numbers drop off during the afternoon at
shows but we were busy each day until the
doors closed.”
Charles adds: “There’s no doubt that
adventurous self-builders and renovators are
interested in integrating new technologies
into their dream build. The Sarnafil single
ply membrane is a modern, recyclable,
sustainable, aesthetic and pleasing roofing
solution which makes it a perfect match for
early adopter self builders.”
