Embracing the Advantages
of Something New
»»Synseal manufacturer,
Skyview Roofs is one of the Midlands leading
conservatory roofing specialists. Based in
Tysley, Birmingham the company manufacture
in excess of over 40 roofs per week and
average up to 100 window frames.
More recently, the company took the
decision to invest in the latest innovation
from Synseal, the new Warmcore bi-folding
door. The product is proving to be one of the
company’s fastest selling product lines and is
experiencing incredible success.
Owner and director of Skyview Roofs, John
Sewell talks to Clearview about the reasons
why they believe the innovative folding door
system offers installers and homeowners more
advantages than that of a standard aluminium
folding door system, and how his company
has embraced these advantages to increase its
margins.
“We are currently manufacturing up to
10 Warmcore bi-folds each week, with the
capacity to achieve up to 25 a week. This is
not a coincidence, nor is it down to luck,
the Warmcore product has been instantly
recognised within the market as a quality
product,” John explains.
“With its radically different design approach,
the system offers a ‘warm aluminium’ system,
with a 3rd generation thermal break, which
significantly out-performs the polyurethane

resin or polymide separator thermal breaks
commonly used to reduce the threat of cold
bridging on aluminium manufactured products.”
John adds.
There has been no compromise on the
development of the Warmcore product and
this is replicated in the manner in which
Skyview Roofs manufactures it. The product is
produced totally to the specification tried and
tested by Synseal to ensure that there are no
onsite installation issues or ‘call backs’ for their
customers.
With manufacturing under tight control,
John and his team are fully au fait with the
mechanics of producing the Warmcore, now
even assisting its profile partner Synseal with
regular feedback to help with continuous
improvements of the product.
The fabricator has also been successfully
demonstrating its knowledge through the
manner in which it markets the Warmcore
folding sliding door. The company recently
embarked on a targeted marketing campaign
following up with dedicated telesales calls, to
help promote Warmcore to the marketplace.
The campaign is still ongoing, but the results
to-date has proved particularly successful for
the business.
Commenting on the campaign, John says:
“After spending so much time and effort
ensuring we manufactured the Warmcore
doors right, we wanted to make sure
companies were aware of what opportunities
were available to them by fitting the product.
“Because of the innovation and distinctive
uniqueness of the product, Warmcore
folding door units are able to demand a
higher sales price because of its distinct
and high performing characteristics,” John
comments, “and actually there is more margin
in the overall product than many may think,
something installers may not be aware of
because of its perceived exclusivity. We wanted
to highlight this to tradespeople and also the
overall benefits of fitting a Warmcore folding
door.”
John wholeheartedly believes in the
advantages the Warmcore folding door brings
to Skyview and with a U-value performance
of up to 1.0W/m2K, when using triple glazed
units, a choice of four external styling’s and
colours, square or chamfered aluminium glazing
beads, PAS24 and Secured by Design (SBD)
accreditation, double-strength sash corners,
customer-engineered extruded flag hinge,
varying cill options and a cleverly designed
aluminium quick all-in-one track system, then
why wouldn’t he?
