The new office, located on the Strand, will support a team of marketing experts offering PR, design and branding, digital marketing and video production. Purplex CEO Andrew Scott commented: “Purplex already operates nationally and internationally from a 4,500 sq ft office just outside Bristol, but the new London location opens up new opportunities and enables us to serve our customers better.” The new office, on Duncannon Street, will support five staff initially, and Purplex is now recruiting for experienced business development, PR and digital marketing consultants. “The new facilities will provide a central London meeting place for our clients and our own team, and will be equipped with the latest technology and communications equipment to ensure seamless connection with our Bristol HQ and other offices in the future.” Call 01934 808132 or visit www.purplexmarketing.co.uk »»FENSA has strengthened its processes and has committed more resources to identifying misuse of the FENSA name and logo and the resultant misleading of homeowners. This will lead to more naming and shaming of offenders and the eventual involvement of Trading Standards to which offending installers will be referred for prosecution. A recent successful prosecution with FENSA’s assistance, by Trading Standards in north London for FENSA logo misuse resulted in a total cost to the directors of over £7,000 in fines and costs. It is illegal for window and door installers to claim they are FENSA certified when they are not. Displaying the FENSA logo and using the FENSA name in this way misleads homeowners. FENSA will be undertaking its own searches to identify misuse – but would also appreciate the help of the industry and consumers. FENSA can be notified directly of logo and name misuse ([email protected] or tel: ‘It is important for both our certified installers to play by the rules’ 020 7645 3700) or indirectly through www. cowboystoppers.co.uk - a website set up by FENSA exactly for this purpose. FENSA managing director Chris Mayne commented: “It is important for both our certified installers that play by the rules and the consumer that when a company states that it is with FENSA this is true.” TEN OUT OF TEN »»When the owners of 12 Lake District holiday cottages were looking for the right window installer for a major upgrade, they didn’t just ask to see a couple of previous jobs – they asked for ten. That was no problem for VEKA Approved Installer and Glazerite customer Andrew Richardson Windows & Joinery and now, 82 VEKA vertical sliders later, Andrew has a dozen more to show the next customer. Andrew said: “Glazerite was very helpful in providing all the information the owners wanted and even came up with a sample window. The windows look fantastic – you would never know they were PVCu without getting up close.” The look of the Glazerite VS obviously impressed local planners. A full application had to be made as the cottages are in a Conservation Area, and only a visual match to the old timber frames would be acceptable, but they were approved without problems. The windows are also SBD accredited. The owners not only liked what they saw but were also impressed that Andrew would be doing all the work himself and so would take responsibility for everything.
