»»When award-winning
commercial installer The Window Company
(Contracts) was approached for a series of
special World War I Centenary windows, it
wasn’t the integrated poppy motifs that were
the biggest challenge – the feature window
frames had to be built around outside
corners of the properties.
Luckily, it was no problem for VEKA
trade fabricator Glazerite Windows Ltd
even when it was pointed out that the actual
corners had to be frameless, as Window
Co Contract Manager Martin Thornton
explained:
“We’d worked with Glazerite many times
so we knew nothing was too much trouble
for them, even though this was something
they had never come across before. We told
them what was needed and they came up
with the windows, plus the curtain walling
and some other features. Everything went in
with no problem and the customer is very
happy with the job.
Glazerite Director Jason Thompson said:
“This style was completely new to us but we
like to rise to a challenge if it helps any of
our customers and this was no exception.”
