Shortages in
construction sector
present opportunities
for glazing suppliers
»»A recent Market/CIPS
Construction Purchasing
Managers’ Index (PMI) has
highlighted major growth in
construction, with this sector
expanding at its fastest rate for
seven months in August.
However, the rapid pace of
growth means this sector is
experiencing material shortages,
presenting new opportunities
for suppliers in the glazing
industry.
Jade Greenhow, Insight
Data’s Operations Manager,
said: “The industry was hit
hard during the financial crisis.
Now, as the industry picks up,
businesses are struggling to ramp
up manufacturing to pre-crisis
levels to meet rocketing demand,
putting projects on hold or
behind schedule.”
Hundreds of residential
housing, commercial new-build,
and refurbishment developments
need building products. If
suppliers want to get involved in
this growing market they need to
get in touch with house builders
and main contractors.
Jade added: “Contacting the
key decision makers’ in house
building and contracting firms
puts your business in front of
the people who matter and who
desperately need suppliers of
glazed building products.”
The Insight Construction File
database contains information
on over 3,000 major house
builders, main contractors,
property developers and property
maintenance companies in the
UK.
