COMPOSITEDOORS
Quality GRP composite
fire doors prove to
be sales winner
»»Distinction Doors,
the UK’s largest supplier of GRP
composite doors has announced
sales of its fire doors are up
25% year on year. Chantel
Roach, Distinction’s Marketing
Manager said, “We are delighted
that the quality of our fire doors
is being reflected in the strong
sales increase.”
Distinction Doors’ GRP
composite fire doors are
supplied by the world leading
manufacturer Nan Ya Plastics
and offer the exceptional quality
and attention to detail.
When fitted correctly, the
doors will resist fire for a
period of 30 or 60 minutes,
in accordance with British
Standard BS 476-22 or BS EN
1634-1.
The high quality construction
of the fire doors includes stiles
and rails of hardwood lamels,
finger jointed together which
are bonded to the skin. The
phenolic foam is constructed
from fire retardant phenolic
resin, flame retardant foaming
and curing agents at a density of
0.075 g/cm3.
The compression moulded
door skins are manufactured from
2mm thick thermoset GRP (Glass
Reinforced Polyester). Finally,
performance on the FD60 fire
door is enhanced with a layer
of glass fibre matting applied to
the inside of the inner and outer
skins.
The sad truth is that fire is
one of the biggest dangers we
face: statistics show that in
2011/2012 there were 37,600
accidental fires in UK dwellings.
When they meet the correct
standards, fire doors can help to
minimise the danger to property
and life.
