The challenge will raise funds for Hope House Children’s Hospices and will involve cycling 2,730 miles through 10 countries in 12 days in June 2019. The team will be covering over 280 miles each day as they cycle from St Petersburg, Russia, through Finland, into the Arctic Circle, through Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, England and Wales, before returning into England and their final destination of Hope House in Oswestry. While Gerald is a keen runner and regularly runs 30 miles in a weekend, cycling is a relatively new sport for him. He says: “I’ve never done anything like this before and would say I was a casual cyclist at best.
