PROUD SPONSOR OF DOORS & WINDOWS
DOORS&WINDOWS
“Innovation and high quality at
the heart of everything we do”
» » ALAN REES IS A WINDOW AND
door industry veteran, with achievements
that include the creation of PVC-U window
system Worth (now part of Spectus) and the
popularisation of the PVC-U vertical slider
through fabricator Quickslide, which remains
a sector leader (although Alan relinquished his
interests in the company in 2005).
Having launched Panoramic Doors in the UK
in 2014, Alan first established the concept in the
USA. Despite enjoying enormous success ‘across
the pond’ however, where 250,000 Panoramic
Doors have been sold so far, Yorkshire-born
Alan’s ambitions remain in the UK.
Alan is now realising this ambition with
the creation of Panoramic Group, a vehicle
within which Alan, aided by daughter Sharon
Rees, intends to move swiftly and decisively to
take advantage of opportunities that manifest
themselves through acquisition and innovative
product development.
“The key to the speed at which we are
growing is decisiveness,” explains Alan. “There
are a great many opportunities in the market
currently. We are well-funded and have a clear
vision of where we want to be and how to get
there. We will bring innovation and creativity
to the companies that we add to the group,
and even more so, the products. Our current
portfolio speaks for itself. Whenever anyone
sees a company or product associated with the
Panoramic brand, I want them to immediately
know, without question, that it represents
great design, manufactured using high quality
materials, and to the highest production
values.”
HERE ARE TWO SUCH LINES:
TRADE-ONLY U-PVC
SWING AND SLIDE
Offering an alternative to the ubiquitous bi-
fold, the Panoramic swing and slide is selling in
ever-increasing numbers to homeowners that
appreciate the wide, uninterrupted openings
of conventional bi-folds, but with the added
versatility and compact opening ‘footprint’
enabled through the hingeless design.
With more than 10,000 Panoramic doors
installed in the UK and 260,000 worldwide,
the company has now produced a version
of the door manufactured with a U-PVC
frame that will be offered exclusively through
professional installers. A fully bespoke product
that is produced using Panoramic’s own
unique profiles, the company is offering a
guaranteed two to four-week turnaround and
comprehensive technical assistance.
Panoramic Doors’ Managing Director
Michael Connor described the company’s
philosophy: “At the core of our approach
to the manufacture of windows and doors
for residential and commercial applications,
is that every product that we introduce will
offer innovative features and comprehensive
customisation options. Furthermore, all
are manufactured entirely in-house using
components and processes that are designed
to ensure faultless quality in every product.”
CE and CMS-marked, the doors have been
thoroughly field-tested in the five years since
their launch. In addition, to offering the most
popular features of conventional bi-folds,
Panoramic doors are easier to transport and
handle, whilst also being simpler to install due
to the design and construction which uses
individual leaves that slot into the custom
tracks.
ALUMINIUM ‘HIDDEN
SASH’ TILT AND TURN
Designed for domestic and commercial
markets, the ALU 70 Hidden Sash window
is suitable for all applications in which a tilt
and turn window is deemed to be the most
appropriate for the application, but with
the additional design touches that add both
aesthetically and functionally. Marketed under
the Alumen brand, externally the ALU 70
appears to be a slim, fixed light frame, offering
excellent sight lines and maximising the glass
area. However, the hidden sash feature, through
ingenious design, allows all full tilt and turn
functions with hardware options that can even
see the handle cleverly recessed.
The high inherent thermal efficiency of
the framing allows an Energy Rating of ‘A+’
to be achieved, and
security is enhanced
by multipoint locking
as standard, tested
to PAS24:2016.
Dimensions up to
1300mm x 2400mm
can be manufactured
to create spectacular
glazing installations,
with capacity for glass
units up to 44mm
allowing triple glazing if
required.
Alumen’s Alan Robinson said that the ALU
70 achieves Panoramic Group’s goal of offering
high quality and something innovative in all of
its products: “The ALU 70 is clever for what
you cannot see. Used in contemporary settings
it allows the designer or homeowner to let
maximum light into a space and the overall
design means the window is a pleasure to
operate and easy to secure. And it competes
very favourably on price with conventional tilt
and turn styles.”
