FIT SHOW 2016
A TREE OF COLOURS GRIPPED THE SHOW
»»Mila officially launched its new
GRIP™ Colour espag handle at
the FIT Show on a stand which
was appropriately bursting
with colour. The Carbon Trust
certified GRIP™ handle has
already been getting lots of
attention in the market because
it is so ‘green’, but Mila has
now revealed that it is not just
green but multi-coloured and is
available in any RAL colour or
gold or chrome finish.
Because it is produced in
high strength polycomposite
ABS, GRIP™ Colour brings the
option of coloured handles to
the mainstream hardware sector
for the first time. Customers
can choose bespoke colours
to blend with coloured window
frames and sashes or even
contrasting colours to suit
interior design schemes or
corporate identities.
The centrepiece
to Mila’s stand
was a giant tree
with multi-coloured GRIP™
Colour espag handles forming
the leaves, blossom and fruit
and there were GRIP™ Colour
handles throughout the stand
matching windows and doors in
PVCu, aluminium and composite
profiles.
Richard Gyde, Mila’s
Managing Director, said at the
show: “GRIP™ is a truly
clever and original product
packed with features which
give our customers a real head
start in lots of market sectors.
“It fulfils all of the
requirements from the
commercial sector for a green
product with low embodied
carbon and, at the same time, it
also offers lots of opportunities
to win business from design
conscious specifiers and
homeowners looking for
something just a bit special or
different.”
All of the handles in Mila’s
patented GRIP™ range are
strength tested to more than
60kg and cycle tested to 50,000
cycles. They are also corrosion
and chemical resistant and offer
a high gloss finish with inherent
UV stability.

SKINS FROM RÖCHLING
»»Röchling Engineering Plastics is amongst
one of the market leaders in PVCu door skin

family.
Laminated with a semi rigid PVCu

pigmentation technology giving the foils total
weather resistance and durability, but also
allowing for colour matching of woodgrains
used in window profiles, roof line products
and conservatories.
The technical advantages of the product
compared to that of its competition means
that have high heat or cold, impact and crack
resistance, superior scratch and abrasion
resistance, and extraordinary foil thickness.
The foils specified as used in the range are
manufactured in Germany by the company
which has more than 30 years’ experience
with exterior films. The sheets use infrared
light reflective pigments in the decorative film
and the substrate to minimise heat build up.
All films are proofed according to quality and
test requirement RAL-GZ 716.
Astrawood-Cool is available in a variety
of wood finishes and also in a range of
plain colours. The sheets are supplied with
an embossing which exactly matches the
equivalent wood grain foil present on frame
