A Great End to the Year
»»Around 240 people attended
Network VEKA’s ever-popular AGM and
Awards Evening in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Attendees were able to visit the day’s
specially-built ‘Business Centre’ where
numerous companies and industry bodies
were on hand to answer questions and give
suggestions on all aspects of business; from
finance and training to marketing and more.
Network VEKA’s MD John Ogilvie was
joined on stage by Compere John Meredith
to present the official AGM. John was quick
to praise the successes of the membership: “It
was a record year on a number of measures...
£64 million pounds worth of products fitted,
in almost 18000 installations, which is up 9%
over the previous highest registration total.”
John explained that The VEKA UK Group’s
MD, Dave Jones, had been welcomed as
Chairman of the Network VEKA Board and
invited him to say a few words.
Dave Jones also congratulated the
membership and articulated how proud he
was of the support offering from The VEKA
UK Group: “The team at VEKA remain
committed to helping promote the Network
and building on its sterling reputation.”
With the day’s event rounded off - flower
power flares and platforms were the order of
the evening!

»»Phoenix Doors, part of the
MASCO UK Window Group Ltd, has
opened a new paint spraying facility at its
Cambridgeshire-based composite door
manufacturing site.
As well as supplying popular paler shades,
such as Chartwell Green, Duck Egg Blue
and Dove Grey, the in-house service can
cater for a full range of bespoke RAL colours,
says Phoenix Doors’ Sales Director, Haydon
Statham.
Customers will also benefit from reduced
lead times and improvements in quality and
competitive cost for both standard and nonstandard colours.
Haydon comments: “Our in-house
painting service means there will be a
beneficial impact on costs and lead times as
we are not relying on a third party; thereby
controlling our own destiny in this area. We
have recruited a key skilled member of staff
with 20 years’ paint spraying experience and
the door finishes are outstanding, we are all
very impressed.
“In following the general market trend for
colour, we believe this is a sound investment
backed by the MASCO Group and ensures
we can continue to offer market-leading,
high-performance door products designed for
the 21st century.” Haydon adds.

The Greenest gets even Greener

commitment to making its innovative Inliten
windows and doors the greenest and most
sustainable products on the market, Camden
has recently taken delivery of a number of new
Volvo FH trucks from fleet partner, Dennison
Commercials.
“Volvo is the perfect fit for us,” says Stephen
Clements, Camden’s Transport Manager. “It’s an
innovative company, constantly looking to keep
ahead of the competition; they’re market leaders;
they’re committed to the highest levels of quality;
and they’ve a great record in environmental
sustainability, an ethos and set of values that
reflect everything we do at Camden.
“From a reliability perspective, the trucks
are excellent. We haven’t lost a single day’s
productivity from reliability issues. But the big
bonus for us is the fuel efficiency, coupled with
a huge reduction in our CO2 emissions.
“Last year, we delivered over 750,000
window and door units to trade customers
the length and breadth of Britain, from
Inverness to Penzance. This year, that figure
will be over one million units. Fleet reliability
is huge to us and our customers put their
confidence in us to deliver on time, every
time. In Dennisons, we have a partner who
works closely with us to help us keep that
promise.”
