projects, industry leader TuffX is always
pleased to be the front runner in supplying

glass. Most recently, the Knowsley
based manufacturer teamed up with
Herefordshire’s Atrium Conservatories to
create an elegant, custom built orangery
at a residential property on the Welsh
border.
The project required 18 panels
measuring 19.92m2 to form a gentle
hipped roof, sitting aloft an African Sapele
hardwood structure. The glass panels were
fitted complete with roof lantern on one
side; quality manufacture one of the key
reasons for TuffX’s involvement. Situated
next to a rookery, the brief specified a
distinct need for self-cleaning glass; a
request catered for through the use of a
specialist Ambi product.

Italian hardware manufacturer, AGB, to
its extensive range of third-party branded
products.
The ArTech system has been developed for
fabrication lines of all sizes, and comes with
various hinge options including surface fit,
rebated, jigless and the ‘Plana’ concealed hinge
system. The gear is connected via either a
‘Crop & Punch’ connection system, or can be
easily assembled on a manual line by utilising
‘Crop & Cover’ connector plates, which
enable manual cropping of the hardware
without the need to punch a hole in the
cropped faceplate.
Standard and PAS24 security configurations
are available, ensuring Document Q
compliance. Adjustable Anti-Burglar cams
are supplied as standard too, acting as a
compression point on standard windows or
security mushroom cams when paired with
a security striker. Gearboxes on most tilt
and turn systems are clamped to the drive
gear faceplate, but ArTech’s is attached using
concealed screw fixings for a more attractive
linear design.
