FIT SHOW 2017

THE POWER OF KNOWLEDGE

»»
Fire and security are covered by regulation, however not everyone in the supply chain knows what is covered, is able to specify and / or supply appropriate products / materials, and most importantly install and commission the fire protection or security installations correctly. Knowing who or what to use on a project can be a real problem.
Third Party Certification offers ways to address this:
Certification of appropriately tested / technically assessed products and competent installation companies.
PRODUCT CERTIFICATION
This requires companies to demonstrate processes and procedures for the design, control of manufacture to maintain the conformity of the product with that which was proven by test or assessment to afford the fire protection required.
INSTALLER CERTIFICATION
This requires companies to demonstrate processes and procedures for the design, selection, procurement and satisfactory installation. Certification can be used to verify that which is specified in the fire or security strategy has actually been delivered to site and installed correctly.
There are also schemes for“ Enhanced Security Products” which satisfies the requirements of Police‘ Secured by Design’ for security doors and glazing.
For example, IFC Certification is able to certify products, installer companies under their UKAS accredited schemes and also provide Quality Management System certification to
ISO 9001. IFCC also offers an independent site inspection / survey service as IFCC is also a UKAS accredited Inspection Body.
IFCC are also a Notified Body so can carry out AVCP works to support companies wishing to CE mark their products, despite the Brexit vote this is still essential if you want to supply in UK and Europe.
All of this means that end user clients can have confidence in selecting products / services correctly provided and installed which will perform as specified and deliver the quality required.
So if any of the following apply to you, then go along and talk to IFC Certification at the FIT Show:
• What has fire safety got to do with me?
• Why do I need third party certification?
• Who can I ask about Security Product Certification?
• Can IFCC deliver certification promptly, by someone who will talk through the requirements and how best it can be provided?
