Steel windows and screens for Ace installation

(SWA) member, Crittall Windows, was chosen
to undertake both internal and external work
at the Ace Hotel in London’s Shoreditch.
The 258-room boutique hotel is just a
few minutes’ walk from Brick Lane, near a
conservation area. With more than 160 years’
experience in crafting metal windows, Crittall
Windows was asked to furnish a number
of the building components. This included
W20 fixed lights, cold formed entrance
doors to the ground floor entrance and lobby
area, and internal partitioning screens that
divide the lobby space from the hotel bar and
restaurant.
Crittall installed the lobby screens from its
W20 range, glazed with half height insulated
panels and textured Georgian wired glass.
The company also supplied screens that were
used to clad the existing structural columns to
maintain the theme of the internal glazing.

The new Modo styles are based on the
existing 70mm thick rebate doors, and
feature Apeer’s traditional grained skin and
grained Renolit frames. They are available
with traditional or contemporary bar
handles, and, with 13 colours available as
standard, Apeer is also able to colour match
a complete entrance system, inside and out,
as well as offer a bespoke colour service with
any RAL or BS colour reference.
