PROUD SPONSOR OF INDUSTRY NEWS INDUSTRYNEWS NEW TRACKING SYSTEM FINAL CHAPTER FOR PAPERLESS COMPANY » » THERMOSEAL GROUP has installed a new order tracking and delivery system which is the final stage in achieving a completely paperless sales order processing service to customers. As well as doing its bit for the environment, this system provides a multitude of benefits including real-time tracking, satellite location of deliveries, and same-day email delivery notes and invoices. With 21 vehicles delivering over 2,000 insulated glass components from its four UK sites – including Thermobar and Thermoflex – this new tracking system complements the Group’s earlier-installed bar coding system to ensure that delivery errors are minimised and deliveries remain prompt and reliable. Gwain Paterson, Thermoseal Group’s Managing Director explains: “All of our drivers are now issued with a device pre-loaded with all deliveries for the day, organised in order of allocated routes, with customer contact details, so the driver can contact customers as required. Once the items are dispatched, the customer receives an e-mail to say their order is on route. “In the interests of our team’s wellbeing and also to reduce vehicle down-time, we have built additional features into the system, including prompts for vehicle checks and for drivers to take adequate breaks.” www.thermosealgroup.com First birthday bash for integral blind experts » » PETERBOROUGH’S HiTECH Blinds is celebrating an action-packed twelve months that’s seen it quickly rise to become one of the UK’s most innovative and respected integrated blind suppliers. The brainchild of industry veteran Nigel Greening, AGF’s Mike Yerrell and Michelle Scotney - Joined by long-serving blinds expert Ian Woolley - the HiTECH team set about designing a product that excelled on all fronts, as a response to what its founders saw as low standards in the existing integral blinds sector. Magnet-operated for blissfully easy operation, and offering BS EN 1279-accreditation robustness and weather-resistance, HiTECH blinds have been successfully tested to 10,000 cycles, and come with a no-nonsense 10-year guarantee. Aesthetically speaking, HiTECH is also the only manufacturer on the marke t capable of offering dual-coloured slats to match dual- coloured frames. Michele Scotney says, “We set ourselves the task of developing the best integrated blinds on the market, backed by brilliant customer service, and we’ve been able to achieve that quicker than we thought possible. “But at the same time, we’re not complacent. We’re ambitious about the future and we want to show the industry just how good integral blinds can be.” www.hitechblinds.co.uk SECOND GDPR SEMINAR FOLLOWS ‘SOLD OUT’ FIRST OUTING » » WITH NOT A SPARE SEAT left, a successful one-day GDPR awareness workshop organised by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) on 11 April proved informative and highly useful for delegates.
